Please find attached a presentation, a rebuttal, as it where of the review presented by NJDEP that (1) NJ’s Rancocas Creek is “not connected to anything” and (2) Timbuctoo, settled by formerly enslaved and free African Americans, beginning in 1826, located on the N Branch of the Rancocas Creek Water is not a valid way-point of heritage. There are other issues attached in this material that supports the nomination of NJ’s Rancocas Creek as a National Water Trail. This material has been put together in a collaborative grass-root initiative by the residents of South Jersey. Hard copy w petition to follow. We are not doing this to gain votes, we are not doing this to get our names in the newspapers, we are doing this because its right and proper.
