Kayaking Workshop: Let’s Get Paddling!

Duration: 90 minutes
Class size: 5 persons (*age 12+)
Instruction provided by Liquid Affairs. American Canoe Association Certified Instructors. We teach all levels of recreational kayaking, sea kayak, and SUP (Stand Up Paddle-boards)
Description:
This class is designed as a quick introductory class for those who have not had formal instruction. It’s a fast way to get on the water quickly and safely, and a way to see what’s possible in a kayak!
Classes are held in Mill Dam, Iron Works Park. Registration is Required: Contact Liquid Affairs: sport@yahoo.com
Kayak Rentals at $20.00 per person are available. When you register please let them know you require a kayak. A kayak, paddle, pfd is available for people taking the class. Classes are being held both in the morning and afternoon.
What we’ll cover:

- What to wear: proper clothing for watersports
- Weather, tides, and currents
- Types of kayaks and their uses
- PFD (life jacket) fit and function
- Holding and using the paddle
- Launching and landing
- Moving your kayak: The Basic Strokes
- Strategies for rescues
$20.00 per person.
*Children age 12-17 must have parent or guardian sign waiver for liability. Parent MUST be present during instruction.
