Cast Away Island (SFE)

Stewardship. Fidelity. Ethos. (S.F.E.). Cast Away Island defines: Stewardship. Fidelity. Ethos. For now field studies and field trips are being carried out. A Environmental Resource Inventory (ERI) following guidelines set by the Assoc of NJ Environmental Commissions (ANJEC) is available for your review. See attached.

Stewardship is crux. This is how your support the Rancocas Creek. Your actions or a groups actions connects you and others to the Rancocas Creek and other waters. Stewardship is how you react to issues, how you connect yourself and others and when you engage with the Rancocas and its numerous spots of the natural world.

Fidelity symbol is the Bittersweet Nightshade. This little plant is toxic with hallucinogenic properties. Its is more, its the faithfulness to the waterways, to nature, to community, to multi-use. Fidelity anchors commitment through thick and thin. Fidelity follows Aldo Leopold’s ethic: 1. Humans are part of the wilds ecology; 2. Respect the lands and waters; 3. Conscience of your role in protecting, preserving and restoring wild spaces and 4. Your actions tend to preserve integrity, diversity and beauty of our natural world and wild spaces.

Ethos,we want to pass these waters and surroundings to the future. This ethos runs from your backyard, to the Rancocas to the great mountain ranges of our world. Ethos is our shared values. Ethos is an inner voice saying do good for the greater community. Ethos is setting an example. Ethos is what anchors your commitment to self, to others, to heritage,to community and to multi-use access.
