Note to folks who have signed up for yaking today. Put together infographic on risk. Not the best day for yaking. Risks are enhanced. Start ur day by reviewing (scout the paddle) weather/water/air temps. https://waterdata.usgs.gov/nj/nwis/uv?cb_00010=on&cb_72279=on&format=gif_default&site_no=01467024&period=&begin_date=2022-03-27&end_date=2022-04-03. What takes place more often then not is cold water runs down your paddle and under your paddling layers. There is direct cold water contact to your core area of your body. That contributes to lowering your core temp. When core temp drops your judgement is off. Leads to further issues and accidents. Good judgement call is postpone. If one goes out paddling today layers, float plan, change of clothes, paddling boots/gloves, hydration and more. PADDLE SAFE. Zap a note along on if you have any issues and or concerns. Txs and obliged to folks who signed up. Better to have and not need then need and not have. j
